Hard to give answers to the financial questions as it was all nhs funded. They do also offer a paying service which I wouldn’t recommend to friends. Felt very much like a number rather than a human there. And think there’s much better clinics in the south wales area to choose from if you are going private.

When I think back to my free nhs rounds at wfi, I feel nothing but anxiety and trauma. This was an awful time for me, made worse by poor communication, staff that never ever answered emails or phone calls. Always made to feel like another number and that I should just be grateful. I believe my two rounds were wasted here with no embryos first round and 1 the second, paying private elsewhere I had much better results. Wfi are very well known for their bad communication amongst the fertility network

A few of the financial questions not applicable as I had NHS funding here. they do offer a paying service though which I definitely wouldn’t recommend a friend to pay for as they use a very “one size fits all” approach.

Overall Feedback
Even though I had wonderful care and the treatment was funded via the NHS I would not recommend the clinic due to the long waits between appointments. If you can afford to go private, particularly if you're over 35, I would skip the Wales NHS route and go straight to a private clinic where things will likely move faster. One area that was specifically slow and problematic was the ordering of sperm from the Xytex sperm ban k because it is managed by the central procurement team who only place orders every couple of months.

Terrible experience. Impossible to get through to anyone by phone and took forever for staff to reply to emails. Misdiagnosed and didn't actually get to a treatment cycle. I gave up and went private!
