It was my first ever IVF cycle and it was on NHS. I had a very unfortunate result of zero fertilisation. While the facilities and the service up until the point of zero fertilisation were fine, we found it very difficult to get a follow up appointment to discuss the results and we generally felt like second class citizens due to the NHS funding element in the end. Having said that, we didn't have a history of IVF cycles at that point, so the clinic put us on a standard protocol and didn't have to consider any extensive medical history. Given our treatment following the unfortunate result we decided to move on to a different clinic for our second cycle.

I wouldn't say it was either warm or cold or welcoming or clinical. It was what it was, a fertility clinic. I hated going there not cos it was cold and clinical, just did not enjoy the experience

Even though we didn’t get the result we wanted we felt looked after and cared for by the clinic. They all tried their best to help us have a family of our own. We are now considering adoption.

Doctors were ok but it wasn't possible to see the same person each time. The nurse I had to deal with was very rude. Treatment was tailored specifically for me, I wish I knew about care fertility who does mini procedures to aid implantation etc.

During what was an anxious time and procedures, my experience at Kings Fertility was positive and all of the doctors were professional, friendly, listened to me, explained any changes etc. I felt like I received an individually tailored experience and that they wanted the best outcome for me, E.g. recommending frozen egg transfer due to my high risk of ovarian hyper stimulation syndrome. They advised on complementary treatments like acupuncture which I chose to receive local to me (not via the clinic nor recommended by them). They advised on diet etc. I would recommend them to anyone. I am aware that I was very lucky that my first cycle of IVF was successful at my age (38) at time of treatment and had a healthy baby boy the year after who is now four years old.
