Generally they have been brilliant and very rpofessional and responsive. But there have been a few issues. One occassion i was tood a follocal was not nig enough to start the natiral fet. I challenged it and the nurse was stroppy. I then spoke to anothwr nurse later that day who said my follocle was fine and she was happy for us to go ahead. The online system that is used is also not good. There is very limited information updated. For example no information about the grading of embryos that were frozen and no notes after each scan. This would have been really useful and is recorded on their system so not sure why it doesnt send to teh patient view.
I also didn't like that I had to take progesterone from day 19 to induce a period when I get regular periods. This was an unnecessary delay which messed the start of a round up that then had to be cancelled. The next round started on cycle day 1 as many other clinics do and was absolutely fine. I think they do this to better predict the start. Overall we've had a good experience despite a miscarriage and a chemical. I do wish they would reflect on their prices and provide a no nonsense treatment pathway for simpler patients so we could stay. We are now moving to another clinic who do this for patients with good amh, normal bmi and under 37. Thanks BCRM.

We are very grateful to BCRM for helping us build our family, however there were multiple times that communication was incredible poor. On several occasions we were given wrong information and instructions including about medication and it was only due to the amount of cycles we had been through we knew the information was incorrect- this was highlighted to BCRM and they didn’t even apologise. Private prescription cost is extortionate. Was very sad to see regular price increases of treatments overall- I don’t believe the current pricing is reasonable or fair. The difference in care between several years ago and post pandemic was noticeable. The “warmth” of the clinic was lacking. There is also no payment plan option for embryo storage like other clinics.

Consultant argued with the nurse during my transfer and after transferring 2 out of three of my embryos ( one resulting in miscarriage and the other not successful) I was told there was no point transferring the third as it was such poor quality and was pushed to consider a second round. It was only after accessing my notes we realised they had already transferred the poor grade embryo and the one left was in fact good quality.
For my second round I was told that they would not change up the protocol and that it was just a ‘numbers game’ which made us look elsewhere for a more personalised approach - we were successful on the first transfer at the new clinic as they identified I had PCOS and needed additional medication to help support implantation

This clinic’s facilities are great, but it always felt quite disorganised. My appointments were never on time. After my initial consultation with a doctor, I saw a different nurse each visit, which meant I had to repeat my background history which could be frustrating. Everyone that I did see were compassionate and helpful, so I would still recommend overall.

Really great doctors and fantastic lab staff. The facilities are very good and the new building helps with this. The main downside is that the nursing department comes across quite disorganised. I often received information that was not relevant for my treatment plan i.e. incorrect final instructions and had to chase for appointments and replies to emails/messages. It also felt like a cultural gap between a couple of senior nurse managers and the team - felt like there were some issues in the team - could be wrong, was just a vibe I got.

We chose this clinic because it was closest to us. The staff are friendly, but communication is sometimes poor. My prescription for my upcoming cycle was wrong and I had to query it twice. The errors were noticed by me, not the clinic, so it’s concerning that my cycle could have gone wrong/been cancelled if I didn’t notice. We have an Access Fertility package, but the add on costs (E.g. PICSI, PGT A) are not clear. We had a PGT A consultation and the doctor couldn’t confirm the costs, she didn’t seem confident on the fees and tied us up in knots. Eventually she said we should email the finance team to confirm but even they didn’t explain it clearly. Extra fees were added on that I had to query several times. In the end I emailed them a breakdown of the fees as I understood them and asked them to confirm if that was right, which they did, but I don’t know why they couldn’t have provided the correct costs in a clear and understandable way. It was on me to decipher it all and lay it out to confirm we were on the same page.
There has also been confusion about my protocol for our upcoming cycle. We’ve spoken to 4 different doctors. 2 said long protocol, 2 said short so the care feels very inconsistent. We’ve had to suggest several things such as PICSI, the clinic seem reluctant to make recommendations. I know they need to be careful with treatment add ons as they are regulated by the HFEA, but it seems very much on the patient to ask for different approaches to be taken. There also seems to be an assumption amongst clinic staff that patients have unlimited funds/unlimited time/unlimited emotional capacity to endure multiple losses/failed cycles and keep going at this for as long as it takes until it works. The casual mention of future cycles is frustrating, like there’s an assumption we will do a further cycle if this one doesn’t work, rather than doing everything they can to ensure further cycles aren’t needed! This is 100% our final cycle for many reasons so it’s not comforting or reassuring to hear that a third cycle might be needed when we haven’t even started this one yet

I had a really positive experience with the clinic from initially attending an incredibly informative open evening (including a free 10 minute consultation) to going through ICSI treatment. All staff, particularly the nurses, were always incredibly friendly and comforting throughout I was provided with contact details if I had any questions and additional written information if I needed it. Whilst I didn't access the counselling support, one session was also offered for free with NHS funding.
