Their communications is so awful it makes the process needlessly traumatic and complex. The nurses are brilliant and we’re the only thing that stopped us changing clinics. Our Dr dropped us though when she found a loss we had too hard, which also made things far worse.

This clinic is very expensive and asks you to do a lot of tests and repeat the tests again and again. The treatment plans although said are “personalised” they don’t seem to be after seeing other peoples plans being exactly the same. A lot of the time the costs are given upfront for a cycle or procedure but the expensive add ons are added on quite frequently and make the treatment cycles extremely unaffordable and not fair

Dimitri was amazing from start to finish - his care and pragmatism was outstanding. He really cared about the outcome of our treatment and it felt like a dialogue the whole way through. He listened to us and our concerns or suggestions. He was prepared for every call or meeting with us and went above and beyond in his care and support when our treatment worked and I suffered some complications early on in my pregnancy.

I first attended CRGH as an NHS patient at UCLH, since the hospital uses CRGH for egg collections, transfers and weekend monitoring. I then had one privately funded FET after we exhausted our NHS funding. The clinic is professional yet welcoming. The medical staff clearly have great expertise and the standard of care is excellent. I felt in good hands during a very difficult time. I did not regularly see the same doctor/nurse but had one consultant who oversaw my treatment plans. Communication with the clinic was generally good. Sometimes it was hard to speak to staff on the phone but they usually responded quickly to email.

CRGH is an excellent clinic. I felt in really good hands and we have achieved the desired outcome! They offer really personalised and novel treatments not found elsewhere, like reproductive immunology, which did help my case. The embryologists are world class too. Whilst sometimes communication can be tricky, the portal is great, and it’s worth it. Highly recommend for their excellent skills.

I feel like you definitely need an open mind when attending fertility treatment clinics. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. I would recommend this clinic if you have money available.

The overall experience was brilliant. It was our third fresh cycle when we made the move to CRGH and we were lucky that it ended up being funded (the previous two were privately funded). However, now going into a frozen transfer, we feel the clinic - as brilliant they are - are extortionately expensive in comparison to others and we cannot afford to stay with them. The facilities, care and communication are excellent but having had treatment across other clinics and now in the process of finding others, we can't see how there is such a big hike in prices. The price costed on the website vs the actual cost of treatment is very different. For example, a frozen transfer looks slightly above average on the website but our protocol means it would actually be costing closer to £10k. I have friends who had frozen transfers who also ended up spending a similar amount so it isn't a one off case based solely on our protocol. I really do recommend them, but sadly it's incredibly expensive and becomes unjustifiable. I think they are an incredible team, but overpriced.

Overall Feedback
As an NHS patient I could not (or was discouraged from) contacting CRGH directly. The majority of the time I had to communicate with NHS doctors at UCLH. This works well some of the time, but during the steps of the process that occur at the CRGH (e.g. egg retrieval, embryo transfer, weekend appointments) patients should be given a direct contact. I only found an email address by chance. Ultimately the difficulty in communication adds more anxiety to an already very stressful situation. Other than this, I was very pleased with my care at CRGH and I do think the clinic works really well with UCLH. Overall I am pleased with my care and the partnership UCLH has with CRGH. Please note that some of my answers reflect the fact I am an NHS funded patient and, although I chose this as an option on the early on in the questionnaire, some questions do not provide answers that reflect NHS funded experience

Very professional and knowledgeable staff. All results were very clear and chances of success were discussed. I moved to a clinic closer to me for ease but would recommend CRGH

The treatment at UCLH is shared with CRGH, they are the clinic that does the egg collection and transfer of embryos. Both clinics I felt were clinically competent but both lacked in being caring and to make me feel like they cared about me and my treatment. It felt like a conveyor belt where I was just another patient. This is a shame because there is a huge deal of psychological pain and lack of control when you’re experiencing infertility. You feel very vulnerable and exposed. It would have been nice to have felt more human touch. Having said this I did get pregnant so I thank them immensely for what they have done for me. I would still use both clinics because I thought they were clinically good.
