Some staff had much better patient care than others; but this is, of course, subjective.
I would’ve appreciated a single named consultant from start to finish but felt like only private patients receive this level of care (we were NHS funded - we saw someone different each appointment).
The consultant who led my egg retrieval procedure was an angel - there were some complications and she dealt with them in such a kind and caring manner. She also followed up months later to make sure my pregnancy was progressing well and we were all doing well.

Without having experienced any other fertility clinics it’s difficult to recommend or not recommend the Hewitt Centre. Most staff do treat you very well, however, the treatment can lack consistency. Treatment doesn’t seem personalised. I also think some corners are cut - on my NHS round I only had 1 monitoring scan, compared to 2 monitoring scans on my privately funded round. There is also a lack of transparency around the cost and especially medication costs. Unfortunately we live in an area where the choice of fertility clinics is very limited. I would say there are definitely better clinics out there but that’s not to say the Hewitt centre is poor. I’d say average. Has positives and negatives, as I imagine most would.

Sometimes long wait for appointments. Usually takes a long time to get through to nurses kn the phone. I keep getting asked asked if I have provided samples , when I had a micro tese operation 3 years ago that they sent me for!

From my personal experience and what I felt we needed medically I wouldn’t return and would not reccomend for this reason. But lots of people have success here, it wasn’t right for our situation. NHS don’t do in depth root cause testing and we only had success since going private and having a specialist male consultant look at the make factor and treat a number of issues found the NHS did not as they don’t offer these tests. They offer a solution without much root cause analysis of medical situation. Both rounds here resulted in a pregnancy but I miscarried. After going private with the consultant for male and having ivf in Athens I am now 21 weeks pregnant.

When discussing planning to go through ivf with friends and family we were advised away from nhs clinics based on things people had heard or loose connections. Hewitt fertility really exceeded all expectations- communication was clear and their staff were very friendly and always felt like they had time for you. The doctor listened my perspective on my fertility and felt like they took this on board and considered it as part of my fertility plan

Clinic went above and beyond to accommodate my schedule. Sometimes allowing me to attend appointments early so I could get to work on time. Every single member of staff is so friendly & always happy to see you. All of them genuinely want the best outcome for you. Couldn't recommend this fertility centre more.
