We had our NHS funded round at this clinic and at the time I thought the care was fantastic. However after our cycle came to an end unsuccessfully, i felt as though I was just a number. They offered counselling but did not try and follow up or offer us a funded cycle. I was also diagnosed with endometriosis mid way through our cycle and i believe my cycle may have benefitted with some changes to my protocol but it felt very basic being NHS. Not allowed certain additions like embryoglue. Had to requested post transfer progesterone bloods, where other clinics do this routinely. I also never saw the same Doctor, it was two different Consultants for initial consultations and different Doctors doing egg collections and embryos transfer. We eventually went abroad to Greece for our second cycle which has been successful, the care and consistency of having the same team was brilliant. Not sure if our experience at Bourn Hall would have been different if i’d have been a self funded patient.

I felt really good about the whole experience from start to finish. Everything was explained really well and clearly. We were NHS patients and we felt we were treated no differently because of our funding. Circumstances have not allowed it yet, but I would be happy to return here for more treatment.
